Love to Eat - Eat to Love

Love to Eat, Eat to Love is a FOOD + DRINK MOVEMENT to RAISE FUNDS + AWARENESS for CRUCIAL COMMUNITY + SOCIAL ISSUES.

What started as a Facebook post by STLwinegirl Angela Ortmann to promote kindness, positivity, and collaboration is now a movement to celebrate the delicious diversity that exists here in St. Louis. Love To Eat, Eat To Love (LTEETL) is a movement geared toward using the food and drink industry to highlight and support issues our community faces. Using the shared love of food and drink, LTEETL spreads love, kindness, and support for important issues while raising money and awareness for organizations that support those causes.

The fourth installment of Love To Eat, Eat To Love is a month-long campaign during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October 2022 with over 100 St. Louis restaurants, bars, shops, brands, and distributors working together to raise money for organizations that help the victims and survivors of domestic violence in the St. Louis metropolitan region.

Previous events held were:

  • "Immigration Collaboration," which showcased over 50 immigrant chefs and immigrant-owned restaurants to raise money for the International Institute;
  • "Force De Femme" which featured over 100 female chefs, restaurateurs, bartenders, brewers, sommeliers, farmers, distillers, distributors, artisans, makers, etc ... who collectively created a unique food and drink experience to raise money for programs that support and protect women in need and that empower young girls for their future;
  • "Pandemic Virtual Fundraiser for the STL Hospitality Industry" to help hospitality staff that lost jobs;

Through the Love To Eat, Eat To Love series, the team continues to seek opportunities to support the STL food & beverage scene and the community it graciously serves.
